Hello there!
Welcome to The Madison Review’s web series, The Extended Cut, where we showcase exceptional work that was not a good fit for the fall or spring editions of our journal. This week we will be sharing a watercolor impression of the city of Madison, “The Fall Under Canopies” by Van Hai Van.
Van Hai Van is a children’s books illustrator. She got a Bachelor’s of Science in Biotechnology in her home country. She still loves the beauty of the life sciences, but her heart has been taken with drawing since she was small. She started to dream of becoming a children’s books illustrator when she first came to the States. She does not consider herself an artist, however sometimes there are moments she wants to capture. “The Fall Under canopies” series is her first impression of Madison.
