Fall Contests
The Madison Review annually hosts the Phyllis Smart-Young Prize in Poetry and the Chris O’Malley Prize in Fiction. The finest unpublished short story and finest group of three unpublished poems will be awarded $1,000 with publication in an issue of The Madison Review. Writers may submit one entry per genre (one short story and/or group of three poems).
Congrats to our most recent Chris O’Malley Prize winner, Audrey Toth, with her short story “Peacock” and our most recent Phyllis Smart-Young winner, Georgio Russell, with his poems “Poltergeist”, “Tournament Time”, and “A for AVA”. Be sure to check them out in our Spring 2024 issue!
Submissions for these prizes open on November 1st, 2024 and close on January 1st, 2025
